The City of Alva is still dealing with a tight budget. “Across all revenue funds, revenue is down about 11 percent from what might be expected,” said Alva Business Manager Joe Don Dunham. He was reporting to the city council Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Dunham said the biggest revenue impact is a decrease of about nine percent from what was expected in sales and use tax. Some smaller revenue streams are also down.

On the expenditure side of the budget, personnel services plus debt service and transfers account for about 72 percent of the annual budget. However, personnel costs are about ten percent highe...
