Comfort Inn attacker receives deferred sentence

John Edward Parlsey, the man charged with driving his vehicle into the Comfort Inn in Alva, pled “nolo contendere” or no contest, during his March 8 hearing at the Woods County Courthouse. The hearing was presided over by the Honorable Judge Justin Eilers.

Parsley received a 10-year deferred sentence for his crimes, and completed his “Rule Eight” form, which outlined his payment of court costs. As a condition of his probation, Parsley cannot carry or possess a firearm. As noted in a previous article published about this case, Parsley has a large collection of firearms at his home in Texas.
