March 26, 2017

"I have insight into budget cutting and looking for savings inside departments and with city spending."

Troy Brooks is a part-owner of Brooks Agency that sells insurance in Alva. He is married with children and is passionate about his family. He says he has a lot of experience, as he was director and supervisor of the Alva EMS department for ten years, serving through four different city managers and working with them over the years on a supervisory level. He worked with many other city departments and operations. He rebuilt and restructured the ambulance program.

Brooks said he wants to be on the city council to "do something to get involved" with his city. Brooks has insight into budget cutting and looking for savings inside departments and with city spending. He said the streets in Alva are a big issue. Brooks said he will not vote for rate increases and would rather look for the money inside the city and cut back on the budget. He would also like to see recycling happen in our area.
