Severe weather safety

Storm Spotter training gives residents inside track on severe weather. When severe weather hits, the ideal thing to do would be to find the innermost, lowest-level room in the house and take cover until the storm passes. For Barber County storm spotters, the opposite holds true.

Jeff Hutton with the Dodge City National Weather Service will present “How to Spot Severe Storms Safely and Effectively” Monday April 3, at 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1300 East Mam in Kiowa, Kansas. The meeting is open to the public and free of charge.
