Softball coaches to host summer camp

Northwestern Oklahoma State Head Softball Coach Jill Webb has announced 2017 summer camp coming up in mid-July.

The camp will be held July 17-19 at the Alva Recreation Complex (1887 Goldbug Dr.) and will be for ages 8 and over. The campers in the age group of 8-12 will go from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m., while the 13 and over campers have an extended schedule, going from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. The older campers also have the opportunity to get a true feel for the college life and stay in the dorms overnight as well as eat in the cafeteria and participate in mini scrimmages.

The cost of the camp for the 8-12 age group is $120 for the three-day extensive camp, while there are two price categories for the 13 and over group. For a full session, the price for the 13 and older age group is $140 while the overnight camper cost is $175.

All campers must bring the necessary softball equipment, including their gloves, bats, cleats, etc. The overnight campers must also remember to bring bedding as well as shower items.

The camp will focus on all aspects of the game and all skill levels are welcome to attend. Each player will be given instruction on all basic fundamentals of the game. The hitting instruction will take place in our new indoor hitting facility and the defensive segment and scrimmages (HS campers only) will be at the Ranger softball field.
