Tournament golf, Wild West style – Part I

 


When a person thinks of golf courses, one generally thinks of lush green fairways and magnificent trees. But if one happens to be touring the southwest USA between Cimarron and Raton, New Mexico, at the right time, he might consider something with just a little bit different flavor.

For if he will slow his car down in the vicinity of the Colfax Tavern in Cold Beer (a place, not a beverage) on the first Saturday in June, and wants play golf on a most unusual links course (one that he can tell his grandchildren about), then this indeed is his lucky day.
