56th annual Pshigoda family reunion

Descendants of William and Florentina Pshigoda held the 56th Annual Pshigoda Cousins Reunion, August 4–6 at Waka (Texas) Community Center, southwest of Perryton, Texas. On Friday evening, bierox and ham sandwiches were served to 30 in attendance.

Saturday, the group had 56 attending. A potluck dinner was enjoyed by all with a lot of homemade foods. Pictures, visiting, laughter and reminiscing were enjoyed. The kids got to go swimming at the Fred Pshigoda farm and some played on the community center playgrounds. Only one mishap took place: Averi Pshigoda fell from the monkey bars and suffered a broken arm. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Ruthie Dearing and Beverly Thompson made new announcements and discussion was held on where to hold the 2018 reunion. It will be posted later pending findings.

Those present from the John and Mary Pshigoda family were: Frieda Graves, Marvin Pshigoda, Mardonna and Leah Brady, all from Alva; Cliff and Beverly Thompson from Midland, Texas; also, Loran Thompson and Marcus Aplass from Abilene, Texas.


From the Julius and Frieda Pshigoda family: Freddie Pshigoda, Ruthie Dearing, and guest Renna Fixe, from Perryton, Texas; Connie Pshigoda Olivas, Quinn and Kelln Nolan from Denver, Colorado; Rodney Ward, Sue Ann Spencer, Noah, Kelln and Paxton Duarte from Sherman, Texas. Also Kailyn and Sheila Dearing from Bentonville, Arkansas.

Those present from the Henry and Pauline Pshigoda family were: Donnie Pshigoda, Dianne Banner, Austin, Felicia, Grant and Averi Pshigoda, also Sidney Walton, all from Perryton, Texas. Ann Hedrick from Amarillo, Texas. Ashley, Grace, Jordan, Betty, and Henry Pshigoda from Spearman, Texas.


From the Martin and Pat Pshigoda family, son Dave and his wife Carol Pshigoda from Darrouzett, Texas were present.

Those attending from the Albert and Elsie Pshigoda family were: Curtis and Cheri, and Rodney Pshigoda, Alesia and Hector Borjorquez, all from Shattuck, Oklahoma.

From the Sam and Alice Pshigoda family, daughter Nora and her husband Rich Clark from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, attended.

Those present from the Fred and Pauline Pshigoda family were: Duane and Karen, Linda, Kevin, Stryven and Saraelee Pshigoda, Brian, Tamarachena, Dillon and Tad, all from Perryton, Texas.

From the Betty Pshigoda and J.D. Flanagan family: son Garland Flanagan from Guymon, Oklahoma, and daughter Velda and her husband Stephen Phillips from Jackson, Mississippi.

Homemade quilted potholders made by Sue Ann Spencer were awarded to the oldest present (Frieda Graves, at 91 years young), those who came the longest distance (Stephen and Velda Phillips at 900 miles), and the family with the most attending (the Henry and Pauline family).
