August 20, 2017

Martie Oyler of ONG - Enid.

Martie Oyler from the Enid Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) office spoke briefly at the Alva Chamber of Commerce third Friday Community Coffee this week.

Oyler began her remarks by introducing co-workers Linda Mosley, community relations manager, and "Mr. ONG – Alva" Jay Cooper, service specialist. Oyler described her job as economic development and municipal relations.

Oyler joked by repeating a comment Cooper made when she asked him to attend the coffee: "Now Martie, you know if some problem comes up I'll have to go handle that." She then said, "I'm so pleased that he is so conscientious about taking care of our good customers in Alva."

She provided history that ONG purchased the Zenith Natural Gas System in the mid-1960s, and in the last two years finished up automatic gas meter reading, which saved lots of labor costs, it is safer because we're not walking through yards and is more accurate.

Oyler commented that she travels to dozens of communities throughout the state and she commented you can tell the strong and growing communities because "they play well together."
