December 24, 2017

An Alva man has been charged with three drug felonies after law enforcement executed a search warrant at his residence. Court affidavits show 426 grams or 15 ounces of marijuana was seized.

Jordan Lynn Flynt, 21, of Alva was charged Dec. 20 with (1) possession of controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute, (2) violation of Oklahoma statute via computer and (3) maintaining a place for keeping and/or selling controlled substance. All are felonies. The first count is punishable by imprisonment for two years to life and/or a fine of up to $20,000. The second is punishable by imprisonment for not more than five years or by a fine of not more than $5,000, or by both such imprisonment and fine. The third is punishable by a fine of not more than $10,000 and/or county jail imprisonment not more than five years and costs.

Flynt was arraigned on Dec. 21 with bond set at $70,000. His next court appearance is Feb. 13, 2018.

According to court records, Alva Police Officer John Caviness received information from a confidential informant (CI) who reported seeing marijuana that had been prepackaged and vacuum sealed for distribution at Flynt’s residence.

The CI said that since August he/she had purchased marijuana an estimated 15 to 16 times from Flynt and believed he was the main distributor in Alva. The CI told law enforcement that Flynt sells to others who distribute for him. Caviness also watched at the CI texted Flynt and discussed buying marijuana.

On Nov. 15, Caviness and Undersheriff Keith Dale executed a search warrant at Flynt’s apartment. Officers report finding under the bathroom sink a white plastic sack containing three gallon-sized vacuum sealed bags with a large quantity of a green leafy substance that they identified as marijuana. They also located a digital scale.

Found in the bedroom were two $100 bills and a $2 bill. The bags were weighed at 268 grams, 140 grams and 18 grams for a total of 426 grams.

The CI reported purchasing one ounce of marijuana from Flynt for $200 so the estimated value of the marijuana seized is $3,000.
