Monday afternoon, the Alva Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire burning in the engine compartment of a large tractor trailer truck that was pulling a trailer with a road grader on it. The driver pulled over into the parking lot at the Holiday Motel. The name on the truck is Venture Corporation out of Great Bend, Kansas.
