AHS athletes qualify for state meet

 


ENID, Okla. – A total of 14 Alva High School track and field athletes turned a well-rounded regional meet on Saturday at Chisholm into state qualifiers. The Goldbugs finished the regional in fourth place, while the Ladybugs were in a tie for fourth at the end of the event.

Highlighting the Regional meet was Ray Ray Bell as she finished first in both the 800 meter run (2:24.76), by more than four seconds over the runner-up, and the 1600 meter run (5:41.21) by more than seven seconds. Bell’s 800 meter time is unofficially the fastest time in the state this season according to OHSTrack.com.
