DUANE HAYES

 

Duane Hayes, 53-year-old Waynoka resident, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at his home south of Waynoka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, in the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Waynoka with Reverend Wendie Jencks-Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Waynoka Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Billings Chapel in Mooreland on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Duane Earl Hayes was born on January 16, 1965, in Mooreland, Oklahoma, to Earl and Virginia Faye (Haller) Hayes. Duane grew up in Waynoka and graduated from Waynoka High School in 1983. After his graduation, Duane worked in the oilfield and then moved to Arlington, Texas, in 1986 where he worked at Reliable Coatings and Premier Automotive. He later moved back to Waynoka and has worked at Clean Harbors Environmental for the last 13 years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting sports, building and working on his house, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.


He is survived by his significant other of nine years, Lauren McVicker; brothers Rocky Kammerzell of Chouteau, Oklahoma, and his kids, Rory and Ryan; Rick Hayes and wife Janice of Waynoka and their kids, Reese and Rainey Hayes; Tracy Hayes and wife Heather of Poolville, Texas, and their kids, Dylan Hayes and wife Kylie and Taylor Hayes; numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Virginia Hayes, and sister-in-law, Nancy Kammerzell.
