State FFA Convention

Waynoka FFA had a very busy three days at the 97th Oklahoma State Convention. Members that attended were Tayen Redgate, Makinze Smith, Breya Beck, Marlie Pitts, Alivia Seaman, Shay Wilson, Rhiata and Rholton Bouziden, Raelee Cunningham, Stetson Nix, Temperance Bouziden and Madison Blocker. Jessica Goucher and Kennedy Zook were there also as part of the chorus.

Monday, May 1, we arrived in Tulsa. We had a great time golfing and enjoyed a great meal at GolfSuites Tulsa. Steve and Connie Redgate sponsored our outing and meal that evening.

Tuesday, May 2, we attended all three general sessions. Tayen Redgate and Jessica Goucher received their Career Passports in Agribusiness. We also got to explore the expo. After the third session we attended the William Clark Green concert that evening.

Wednesday, May 3, Jessica Goucher sang in the fourth general session for the talent competition and did a great job. During the fifth session Breya Beck was announced Champion State Reporter, and received a $1,000 scholarship. During the sixth and final session Jessica Goucher and Tayen Redgate both received their State FFA Degrees. Goucher also received the Stan Kingman Scholarship for $1,000. Waynoka FFA congratulates them for their huge accomplishments, hard work, and dedication put into each category and office.

Jessica Goucher and Kennedy Zook sang in the FFA chorus. Just in two days they learned multiple songs to perform and sang them many times over the course of the convention in the general sessions. Waynoka FFA is very proud of both of them and their great performances.

Tayen Redgate ran for Northwest Area vice president. Although she wasn't elected, we are still extremely proud of the hard work and dedication she put in and how far she has come.
