Women's golf concludes Newman Spring Invitational

 


NEWTON, Kan. – The Rangers women's golf team finished their last invitational before the conference tournament at the end of April. This week was the Newman Spring Invitational, hosted by Newman University. Northwestern placed fifth overall finishing with a total of 647 (310-337).

Overall Nebraska-Kearney placed first with a total of 613 (297-316) followed by Augustana and Missouri Western State closing the top three. Allison Comer at Nebraska-Kearney won the invitational with a total of 148 (69-79).

The Rangers were led by Romane Lacoste who had a Top 5 finish at the invitational, tying for fourth overall with her lowest round in the first round with a 75. In total, Romaine Lacoste finished with a 153. She had a team-high 20 pars in the tournament along with four birdies between the two rounds.

Next for the Rangers was Tess Linden, who tied for 17th overall with a total of 160. Linden had a low round of 75 on the first day, and 14 total pars for the tournament, pairing that with a team-high five birdies.

Agathe Lacoste tied for 26th overall in the tournament after a 165 with her best round in the first round. Agathe Lacoste had a total of 13 pars with four birdies between the two days.

Fourth was Addison Furtick with a final of 172 between the two days. She had a low round of 78 in round one. Furtick had a total of 16 pars for the tournament with one birdie.

Amanda Lane had a 176 with her best round of 85 between the two rounds. Lane had 13 pars in total with one birdie.

Northwestern had one individual in Kelsey Hoy-Pollard who finished with a 178 and a low round of 85 in the first round. Hoy-Pollard had 14 pars in the tournament with one birdie.
