South Barber graduating class of 13 earned over $163,000 in scholarship money

Sunday afternoon 13 graduates marched into the South Barber High School gymnasium in Kiowa, Kansas, to receive their diplomas. Their former teacher and now one-year Principal Steven Neal described the class as "exceptional, diligent, creative and motivated." He said, "This class of students are exceptional both academically and from a citizenship point of view."

As class valedictorian, Briggs Jewell pointed out in his valedictory address, "This class has earned, collaboratively, over $163,000 in scholarship money to move beyond these walls and pursue future dreams."
