Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital hires two new doctors in January

January 11, 2017

Two D.O.s are starting this month at the Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital and Physicians Clinic in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. Clinic Director Ashley Taylor confirmed this to the Newsgram this week.

The men are Dr. Andrew Posey, D.O., and Dr. Justin Morgan, D.O. They both have previously seen patients at Grace Med in Wichita. In fact, Morgan and Posey have lived in the same neighborhood, had the same job, and attended church together since 2011 and say they are excited about continuing the partnership in Medicine Lodge.

Taylor said both men will each work two days a week covering the clinic and ER.

Morgan has a wife and three daughters and started in Medicine Lodge Jan. 1. Originally from Wichita, he went to Oklahoma State University for med school then returned in 2011 to Wichita. There he did a family medicine residency at KU-Via Christi. Taylor said Dr. Morgan's favorite area of medicine is the emergency department, but he chose family medicine because he enjoys relationships and continuity of care even more.

Posey is to start at Medicine Lodge Jan. 31. He grew up in a small town near Houston. He studied nutrition at Texas A&M and went to medical school at the University of North Texas. He did his family medicine residency at via Christi in Wichita before serving five months at a rural hospital in Africa. Posey has a wife and a dog. He mentioned being “thankful for the work and peace of Jesus Christ in my heart.”
