Alva Farmer's Co-op celebrates 100 years

The annual meeting of the Alva Farmer's Cooperative Association was held Monday night at the Woods County fairgrounds. The meeting served an additional purpose of celebrating the co-op's 100th anniversary of being in business.

A video slideshow ran throughout the meeting displaying both early and current images of the co-op facilities and employees. Former manager Bob Davison spoke, telling the middle 40 years of the firm's history, and President Randy Schwerdtfeger told of the recent 20 years.

The auditor's statement of operations revealed net earnings of $659,910.38 after taxes. The auditor...
