Alva students saw success at 'World's Largest Junior Livestock Show'

Alva 4-H and FFA members competed at the Oklahoma Youth Expo held March 8-17 at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds and four students earned spots in the expo's annual Sale of Champions.

Alva FFA members had three exhibitors in the Sale of Champions and Alva 4-H had one.

Kaden Slater was awarded reserve division champion with his market goat. The Diamond Hats purchased Slater's premium for $2,750.

Cooper Cneary received 18th overall crossbred steer. Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma and Bank 7 teamed up to purchase his premium for $4,000.

Karlee Dietz was selected as the 11th overall market goat. Dietz's premium was purchased by Blue and Gold Sausage for $2,000.

Alva 4-H member, Austin Reed, was awarded 11th overall crossbred market steer. Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma and Bank 7 purchased Reed's premium for $4,000.
