Tulsa Jail expects $3.5 million shortfall next fiscal year

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Tulsa Jail is expecting a shortfall of $3.5 million for the next fiscal year.

The Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/2mV6aRn ) reports the jail conducted a survey that showed Tulsa County may have to subsidize jail operations for a third straight year.

The projection comes six weeks after the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said the jail would likely need an additional $2 million to make it through the current budget year. That would be in addition to $2.4 million allocated at the outset of the budget year.
