Hayes wraps up season's first heptathlon at Cowley County

 


ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (April 6, 2017) – Oklahoma Christian's Audrey Hayes completed her first heptathlon of the outdoor track and field season on Thursday, finishing fourth at Cowley County (Kan.) Community College.

Hayes, a junior from Yukon, posted a final score of 3,401 points in the seven-event discipline. Ashlynn Carroll of Central Oklahoma had the winning score of 4,363.

In the long jump on Thursday, Hayes' top mark was 14 feet, 7¾ inches (4.46 meters). She threw 97 feet, 6 inches (29.73 meters) in the javelin – placing third among the six competitors – and ran the 800 meters in 2:49.67.
