Mapes earns scholarship at 'World's Largest Junior Livestock Show'

Cathy Mapes, a member of the Alva FFA chapter, was awarded a $5,000 academic scholarship to Oklahoma State University's Center for Health Sciences. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must compete at the Oklahoma Youth Expo, attend Oklahoma State University, and pursue a major in the medical field. The Oklahoma Youth Expo was held March 8-17 at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. The event welcomes over 7,000 youth and their families to Oklahoma City throughout the ten-day event and is known as "The World's Largest Junior Livestock Show."...
