The Nescatunga Golf Tournament was hosted at the Alva Golf and Country Club over the weekend (July 8 and 9) with 40 teams competing, each team consisting of four members at most.

With early tee times on Saturday, the Nescatunga Golf Tournament had close competition with the first 20 teams teeing off at 7 a.m. and the last 20 at 1 p.m.

After the completion of Day Two of the tournament the team that finished at the top of the chart was captained by Lane Wiersig as he and his teammates – Clansy Harzman, Wayne Heffington and Kyle Ward – finished with a one stroke lead going into Sunday’s tee-off with their score at 57.

Trailing at a close second was Jeremy Cooper’s team with Ky Pfleider, Tyler Pinon and Nick Hodge shooting a 58 on Saturday followed closely by Jesse Kline’s team with Cory Garrison, Chris Jones and Craig VanHorn with a 59 for Day One.

Despite the close shootout on Saturday, L. Wiersig, Harzman, Heffington and Ward finished with the win at the Nescatunga Golf Tournament.

Next Tuesday, July 18, the Alva Golf and Country Club will be hosting a men’s scramble night.
