Foster Wins Title, SE Second at GAC Preview

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Southeastern's Hayden Foster fired a final round 65 to take home the individual title at the GAC Preview held at Lake Hefner GC in Oklahoma City, Okla., while the team carded a 277 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for second.
Foster tacked on his 65 to rounds of 64 and 69 from Monday to finish three strokes ahead of second place which was a tie that included teammate Zach James.
Both Foster and James finished all of their rounds, three each, with scores below 70.
Foster's 198 was 18-under-par for the event.
James finished in a tie for second with a 68 in the final round to go with a 68 and a 65 from Monday for a 201 which was 15-under-par.
Ryan Woods also improved on his Monday performance with a 70 to finish in a tie for 22nd with a two-under-par 214.
Sam Berry and Trevor Proctor each finished at two-over-par for the event with totals of 218, with Proctor shooting a 74 on Tuesday and Berry adding a 76.
The team finished four-strokes off the championship score of 824 posted by Oklahoma Christian, while the 828 tied them with conference foe Southern Nazarene.
Both teams finished 14 shots ahead of fourth-place Arkansas-Monticello and 16 up on fifth-place Oklahoma Baptist.
SE's B team moved up to finish seventh with an 850 team score after a 285 on Tuesday.
Ruben Figueiredo led that grouping with a 207 which was good for a tie for eighth place after carding a 72 on the final day.
Ryan Capps stayed steady and posted another 71 to finish the event with 214 in a tie for 22nd.
Cody Darling was next in with a 72 on Tuesday and a two-day total of 220 to finish tied for 38th.
Cody Reed wrapped up his event with an 80 on Tuesday and finished with a 221 to place in a tie for 41st, with Jordan Holifield firing a 70 on the final day to finish right behind in a tie for 45th with a 224.
Southeastern will be back on the links Sept. 18-19 when it travels to Muskogee, Okla., for the 19th Annual NSU Men's Classic at the Muskogee CC.`
