Perhaps you have mistakenly bought artificial cheese slices. It’s quite a let down from American, but, after all, real cheese is made from milk, not plastic. Another attempt at a substitute was a frying oil called olestra, claiming to lower calories but causing intestinal distress. Not a good trade-off.
