WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A woman has admitted that she threatened employees and robbed three Wichita businesses within a year.

U.S. Attorney Tom Beall says 26-year-old Christina Messerschmidt of Wichita pleaded guilty Friday.

She admitted to robbing Intrust Bank in December 2016 and threatening to shoot the teller. She was arrested after a standoff with police at an apartment near the bank.

Messerschmidt also admitted to robbing a Patricia's store on June 13 and a Kwik Shop the next day. She threatened to strangle an employee at Patricia's and threatened Kwik Shop employees with a knife.

Sentencing is set for Nov. 13. Attorneys have agreed to recommend a sentence of seven years in federal prison.
