Board of Regents meets in Alva Friday

The Board of Regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma (RUSO) met Friday morning on the Northwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Alva.

Items on the agenda affecting NWOSU included program modifications or requirement changes to the Bachelor of Music Education programs, instrumental and vocal.

Northwestern asked for ratification of an emergency approval given to a change in the construction manager for student center renovations from American Construction Services, LLC to Shrader & Martinez Construction, Inc.

Information was to be presented on two roof replacements at NWOSU, one for the Industrial Education Building and the other for a section of the roof at the Dunning Performance Center over the workout area. Both of the roof replacement projects were awarded to Coontz Roofing, Lahoma, for a contract amount of $146,500.

An executive session was planned to discuss the employment of the presidents of NWOSU and East Central University. There was also to be discussion of the employment and compensation of all six university presidents in the RUSO system. In addition, the board was to discuss the employment of the RUSO general counsel during the closed session.
