Funeral services for Jeane Nance were held at 10:30 am Sat, October 7, 2017, at the Carmen Christian Church with Rev. Kirk Board officiating. Interment followed the Eagle Chief Cemetery under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary, LLC of Carmen. Jeane Ayers (Shipler) Nance, daughter of the late RC "Bill"and Bertha Helen (Ayers) Shipler, was born September 10, 1926, at Aline, Oklahoma, and passed away October 3, 2017, at Enid, at the age of 91 years and 24 days. Jeane was raised around the Aline area and graduated from Aline high school. On July 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Verlin Dwight Nance at Enid. They lived on the farm west of Carmen where they raised their family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking for her family. Jeane wasa member of the Aline Christian Church. Besidesher parents and husband, Verlin, she was preceded by death an infant sister, Mary Ann Shipler, and a daughter in law, Lloydene Nance. Jeane is survived by two sons, Larry Nance of Ringwood and Rick Nance and wife, Sue, of Sand Springs; one daughter, Christee Jenlink of Carmen; one sister, Bessie Lou Sayer or Fallon, Nevada; six grandchildren, Ladena Shaffer and husband, Marty, of Ringwood, Lori Palmer of Ringwood, Lana Coppock and husband, Cameron, of Mustang, Steven Nance and wife Lori, of Sand Springs, Stephanie Nance of Washington, DC, and Kendee Casaus and husband, Thomas, of Broken Arrow; 17 grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Carmen First Responders.
