OWRB to consider Alva loan Nov. 1

Chris Wolff, Municipal Finance Services, explains interest rates, financing and payments of the OWRB loan sought by the City of Alva. He attended the utility authority meeting Monday.

Alva took the next step in the process of hopefully obtaining a $2.635 million loan from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) Monday. Involved were three items on the Alva Utility Authority (AUA) agenda and one for the Alva City Council.

Mayor Kelly Parker recessed the council meeting to open the AUA meeting. Both bodies are made up of the same members.

First the utility authority approved Resolution No. 2017-010 adopting a customer service policy for the AUA. Although Alva already had such a policy, it did not address hardship cases. The new policy does. This policy was a preliminary req...
