Alva police worked several minor vehicle collisions in recent weeks. On Oct. 17 at 10:04 a.m. there was a two-vehicle collision at Church and Third streets. Carolyn Gasaway, 80, of Alva was in a 2014 Ford stopped at the stop sign facing east at Church and Third. Betty Jo Hulbert, 21, of Alva was traveling south on Third in a 1994 Ford F150. Gasaway said she drove into the intersection, not seeing Hulbert’s pickup. The front right bumper of Gasaway’s vehicle struck the front left bumper of Hulbert’s pickup. Assistant Police Chief Patrick Hawley filed the report.
