Woman charged with embezzlement from employer

A Cherokee woman has been charged with embezzlement after her former employer contacted law enforcement. Kayla Kathleen Klick, 32, of Cherokee has been charged with embezzlement between Aug. 1, 2017, and Oct. 29, 2017, by fraudulently appropriating the sum of $800 using transactions involving lottery tickets that belonged to Toni’s Express Stop. The misdemeanor is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.
