Murdock wins GOP nomination for vacated state Senate seat

WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) — A current state representative has won the Republican nomination for a state Senate seat representing northwest Oklahoma and the Panhandle.

With all precincts reporting in Tuesday's special election, state Rep. Casey Murdock topped the six-candidate field in a winner-take-all GOP primary. He'll go on to face Democrat Amber Jensen in a Feb. 13 special election.

The state Senate seat came open after the resignation of Republican Sen. Bryce Marlatt, who stepped down in September after he was accused of grabbing an Uber driver's head and kissing her neck and shoulder.
