John Leslie "J.L." Jones Sr. was born November 1, 1927, in Owasso, Oklahoma, to Raymon Bell and Esther Emeline Newhouse Jones. He died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years.

J.L. was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Cumberland. He was honorably discharged in September of 1947.

He was married January 6, 1948, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, to Carlene Audrey Morgan. They lived in Hugoton, Kansas, where he worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Gas Co. as a vibration expert...
