Colyer leads Kobach in fundraising in Kansas governor's race

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Republican Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer raised more money than any candidate of either party in Kansas' 2018 election for governor, easily outdistancing Kris Kobach, who is widely considered the front runner in the GOP race.

Two other GOP candidates, Ken Selzer and Mark Hutton, contributed substantially to their own campaigns but still raised more from outside sources than Kobach, according to campaign reports filed Wednesday.

Colyer, a Johnson County physician, raised $632,068 last year, with only $2,000 donated from the Colyer Family Trust, The Lawrence Journal-World reported . A...
