Ordinance change addresses rabbits as pets

If the Alva City Council passes an ordinance amendment Tuesday, you’ll be able to keep a rabbit as a household pet. Current ordinances do not address that situation, considering rabbits to be livestock. The amendment also provides further restriction of cats and dogs running at large.
Due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, the council meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of the municipal building.
