Lucy makes personal appearance to thank firefighters

Lucy, the birddog rescued from the abandoned well by A-B Fire & Rescue on Dec. 17, made a personal appearance at the department's annual fundraiser event last Friday evening, Jan. 12, in Byron. Her owner, Jim Ferguson, and Jim Feist, both from Edmond, wanted to make sure the firefighters knew how much they appreciated their efforts in saving her from the well.

Lucy was hunting with Jim's brother Tom when the accident occurred. The firefighters only saw Lucy briefly after the rescue and she was soaked, covered with black muck and totally exhausted. The Lucy who greeted them at the fundraiser wa...
