Harding Men's Basketball Hits 13 3-Pointers in Loss at Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – A run that included 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions helped Ouachita Baptist pull away and defeat Harding 91-67 Thursday in Great American Conference action at Vining Arena.

With 15:43 left in the game, Adam Horn hit a layup to pull Harding within 47-46. Over the next four minutes, Ouachita outscored Harding 17-3 with its last nine points of the run coming on a 3-pointer from Jontavis Willis followed by two 3-pointers from Jordan Corbitt. The last gave Ouachita a 64-49 lead with 11:36 left.

Harding trimmed the lead back under 10 points with 8:32 left as Brandon Reeves made a layup to cut the gap to 67-58. Ouachita answered with an 8-0 run, hitting a pair of 3s, and pulled away.

Harding trailed 38-36 at halftime. In the first 20 minutes, Harding made 10 field goals, nine of them from 3-point range.

Harding finished 14 of 33 from long range. Zac Ward made four 3s and led Harding with 19 points. Filip Medjo made three 3-pointers and had 11.

Matt Stanley came off the bench to lead Ouachita with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Ouachita shot 63 percent (18 of 29) in the second half and made 9 of 16 (56 percent) 3-pointers.

Harding (4-19, 4-14) returns to the Rhodes-Reaves Field House Saturday to take on Southern Arkansas. Ouachita (10-13, 8-10) remained alive for a GAC Tournament spot. The Tigers began the night with Henderson State for eighth place.
