Ladybugs battle in loss at Woodward

Scoring two of her six points in the game, Acacia Charles (25) puts up a fourth-quarter layup in the Alva Ladybugs game at Woodward on Tuesday. The Ladybugs battled, but the Boomers proved to be just two strong in a 66-45 outcome.

WOODWARD, Okla. – The Alva Ladybugs had a better showing than their first opportunity of the season against the Woodward girls, but the 5A #5 Boomer were still too strong as the Ladybugs fell on the road Tuesday night, 66-45.

On Jan. 30 in Alva, Woodward rolled 66-26 in the first matchup between the two squads.

Alva finishes the regular season with a 12-10 record. The Ladybugs now have an opportunity to make a statement as they begin playoff action at home Saturday evening against Chisholm. The district matchup is scheduled to tipoff at 6:30 at Alva High School.
