Shulkin intends to stay in VA post with White House support

WASHINGTON (AP) — Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, fighting for political survival over travel abuse, says he has the president's trust and will not be leaving his post.
Speaking after a meeting at the White House, Shulkin told The Associated Press that White House chief of staff John Kelly had conveyed President Donald Trump's confidence in him. In recent days, reports swirled of White House officials looking to oust him and VA press officials refusing to serve him.
Shulkin says: "There is no doubt I am the secretary."
He adds, "Anyone that is not able to get on board with that...
