Storm hold off Oklahoma Baptist on the road

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Jhonathan Dunn scored a career-high 30 points and added eight rebounds for Southern Nazarene in an 89-86 win at Oklahoma Baptist.

Dunn was one of four players in double figures for the Crimson Storm (22-2, 19-1 GAC) who shot 42.9 percent from the field and went 12-for-28 from 3-point range. SNU also went 17-for-22 at the line. Micah Speight added 24 points as he was 9-for-15 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3-point range. Noah Starkey had 11 points and five rebounds while Quaylon Newton was just one rebounds shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. He also had three blocks.

SNU had 22 second-chance points of 18 offensive rebounds. The Bison (9-17, 6-14 GAC) shot 47.5 percent from the field and went 11-for-28 from 3-point range. They also struggled at the line going just 17-for-26.

No team led by more than eight as the lead changed hands 20 times on the night and there were 14 ties. The Bison had their biggest lead with 5:39 to go at 77-72 when the Storm scored seven straight to take a 79-77 lead. After the 14th and final tie of the game, the two traded leads two more times before a Speight layup sparked an 8-0 run by the Storm to lead 89-82 with 25 seconds left and SNU held on for the win.
