Woods County man charged with burn ban violation

Apparently a Woods County man decided to do some welding even though the county is under a burn ban. On Friday, Feb. 26, about 12:15 p.m. Woods County dispatch paged the Alva Fire Department to a grass fire near Grady Road and County Road 420. Woods County Deputy Adam Honeyman responded with the fire department.

According to court papers, Honeyman arrived and saw the fire had started when Lorenzo L. Ciniceros had been welding on a corner post of a fence. It appeared sparks from the welding caught the dormant grass on fire. Honeyman talked with Ciniceros who said he was aware the county was und...
