Martin to be appointed to Ward 1 council seat

Mayor Kelly Parker will be making a number of appointments during the Alva City Council meeting Monday night. The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall.
Parker plans to appoint Connor Martin as city council member for Ward 1 Seat 2 for an unexpired term ending in April 2019. That seat was opened when Bryce Benson resigned after more than 25 years serving the city. Martin is to be sworn in following a vote by the council to approve the appointment.
Benson was also on several council committees so the mayor will be announcing appointments to committees. Parker will also...
