Pitts wins Hammer, Barkhimer places second in Javelin on Friday at Dan Veach Invitational

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Muleriders made the most of limited field action that blanketed the opening day of competition at the second-annual Dan Veach Invitational on Friday inside the Mulerider Track & Field Complex as junior thrower Sinclair Pitts claimed the hammer throw event, while sophomore multi-athlete Richard Barkhimer placed second in the javelin throw.
Pitts has recorded eight top five finishes in field events this spring and Friday's victory in the hammer throw was his third win this season and second in the hammer event.
