Relationship renovation

I’m sure by now you’ve heard that College Hill will be hosting a special series of discussions next week on the subject of relationships. Our nation is in turmoil, largely owing to poor relationships. From the “me” generations of the late 1900s to the current wave of single parent “families,” we are seeing the sure results of failing to evaluate, calculate and regularly renovate our physical and spiritual relationships. Please understand, I am not an expert on such things – HOWEVER, we have secured the services of a man who is!

Dr. Bob Whiddon Jr. holds several post-baccalaureate degrees including a doctor of ministry in pastoral ministry and a PhD in biblical counseling. He spent 12 years on the west coast (Vancouver, Washington) as the executive director for the Northwest Marriage Institute before arriving in Claremore to take on the role of executive director for the Hope Harbor Children’s Home. I have no doubts that everyone who attends will be blessed, encouraged, enriched, instructed and enlivened.

We would love to have you visit on Sunday, but if you can’t pull yourself away from your home congregation, we certainly understand. Bob’s subjects for Sunday include “How Older Members Can Mentor Younger Folks” and “What Did Jesus Write in the Dirt?” Class begins at 9:30 and worship at 10:30. Monday through Wednesday, the sessions will begin at 7 p.m. Dr. Whiddon’s subjects will include, “The Three-Year Itch or Understanding the Cycle,” “Problem Dynamics – Relationship Conflict Resolution,” and “The Seven Stages of Marriage.”

Whether you’ve been married “forever” or are just looking forward to a happy, healthy matrimonial future, be our guest! No contributions will be solicited during the course of this meeting. Our regular collection will be taken on Sunday morning but our visitors are never expected to contribute, unless they feel the need. Come as you are and be our guests! See you Sunday!
