USGS records 2 small earthquakes in northwest Oklahoma

 


COVINGTON, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded three earthquakes in northwest Oklahoma, the largest with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7.

The USGS reports the larger quake struck at 10:07 a.m. Friday near Covington. A magnitude 3.1 quake struck two minutes earlier, and a 2.7 magnitude temblor was recorded at 10:21 a.m. in the same area about 56 miles (90 kilometers) northwest of Oklahoma City.

Garfield County Emergency Management Director Mike Honigsberg said there are no reports of damage or injury.
