Dr. Paul Wilhelm returning to Kiowa District Hospital

April 18, 2018

Dr. Paul Wilhelm returns to Kiowa District Hospital and stands with the new KDH administrator, Ronda Thomas.

As of May 1, the Kiowa District Hospital (Healthcare) will once again have Dr. Paul Wilhelm as a member of the provider team and also as medical director.

Dr. Wilhelm will take appointments to see patients in the Kiowa District Rural Health Clinic starting May 1.

The doctor came to KDH in 2005 and practiced there until 2015 when he announced his departure in June and left later in the year. He practiced in Wichita and returned to KDH as interim chief of staff in the summer of 2016 while continuing to practice medicine in Wichita. In the spring of 2017 he worked just in Wichita and is now welcomed back to KDH.

KDH Hospital Administrator Ronda Thomas said of Dr. Wilhelm's return, "This is a great opportunity for the citizens of Kiowa and surrounding communities."

Thomas said they are working on "lots of other projects to grow our hospital." For instance, she told of new services to be provided by a spinal surgeon who can give steroid injections and perform other outpatient minor spinal surgery procedures with new medical technology. She said this service should be available this summer. This is just one of the new services patients can look forward to, Thomas said.
