SE Falls In GAC Title Match

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern saw its Great American Conference Tournament run come to an end on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 loss to Oklahoma Baptist in the championship match in Bentonville, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 11-12 overall on the year.

Southeastern fell behind 2-1 in doubles play, with India Shiaelis and Diana Budnik picking up the lone win in pair play with an 8-6 victory at three doubles.

Budnik carried her momentum into singles play and knotted the match at 2-2 with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the six singles position.

OBU would pick up a win at three singles to regain a 3-2 lead, and would also take matches at two and four singles to hand SE a 5-2 loss.
