Propane bottle on highway causes two-vehicle collision

A trail of debris leads to a 2000 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer driven by Aaron Kloefkorn of Manchester. It was involved in a collision with a motor home west of Alva April 12.

A runaway propane tank caused a motorhome and a semi to collide, resulting in injuries to one driver and a lot of damage, according to court records. The driver who allegedly lost the propane tank is now facing a felony charge in Woods County District Court.

Oscar D. Estrada-Marquez, 47, of Clovis, New Mexico, was charged May 3 with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. This felony is punishable by imprisonment for 10 days to two years, a fine of $50 to $1,000 or both.
