`The Beginnings of Kiowa' told in fun facts during Pioneer Days skit

Portraying Dr. Hardtner, Pastor Bud Ruggia tells that at the time before the Great Land Run in 1893, lots of land in this part of the country was in the hands of the cattle kings. Mr. Mayor, played by Aydan Bryan, shared several facts about Kiowa such as that Hopkins, for whom a street was named, was Old Kiowa's first lawyer and land agent.

Did you know that Hardtner Street in Kiowa, Kansas, was named for Dr. John Hardtner, who first owned land upon which Kiowa was built? Coming to life for Pioneer Days in Kiowa last weekend during the skit, Dr. Hardtner (played by Bud Ruggia) was just one of the many characters that had as much fun presenting fun facts of Kiowa's early days as the crowd did watching.
