Sen. Murdock tells of needed financial decisions

Sen. Casey Murdock addressed members of the Alva Chamber of Commerce about his recent experience at the State Capitol. He said, "I cannot tell you how happy I am to be out of session. Been there for 16 months – that gets kind of old. It wasn't a whole lot of fun.

"A year ago with the session started, we were in a $168 million hole. We had to make tough decisions and the Supreme court ruled that we couldn't do what we did.

"We could not come up with a good idea, and we couldn't get anything done. We ended up running a regular session and a special session at the same time.
