Kiowa City Council locks in energy prices, calls for July 10 election on term limits

The May meeting of Kiowa’s City Council had a full agenda and lasted over three hours. Mayor Ron Rohr was ill so council president Bill Watson conducted the meeting. Councilmember R.L. Simpson joined the meeting by telephone. All other members attended: Russ Molz, Brian Hill and Tom Wells. City Administrator Lou Leone sat at council table as did City Attorney Laurel McClellan and City Clerk Trish Brewer. Numerous people sat in the audience section.

At the council’s February meeting they voted to do away with term limits by approving Ordinance 18-018. The vote was 4-2 with Hill and Mayor...
